Asian grocery stores and supermarkets stock ingredients, snacks and household goods that general American supermarkets often do not carry, organized by category rather than by country of origin in most stores. Produce and live or fresh seafood sections are usually at the back or side of the store, and weekend mornings bring the largest crowds and freshest restock. Many larger Asian supermarkets include a hot deli or food court counter selling prepared meals by the pound or as fixed plates, useful for a quick lunch while shopping. Labels are frequently bilingual or untranslated, so store staff can usually help locate a specific ingredient if you ask. Cash, cards and mobile pay are all commonly accepted at larger chains; smaller specialty shops may be cash-preferred.

San Diego is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around San Diego is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I wonβt be returning. After shopping here since 2012, Iβve finally had enough. The quality of the fresh produce has become absolutely unacceptable. What used to be a reliable neighborhood store now consistently has produce that looks old, tired, and substandard. The quality has gotten so bad that I no longer feel comfortable spending my money here. The customer service is just as disappointing. With the exception of one gentleman who is courteous, there are often three women working who are rude, dismissive, and pay little attention to customers. They consistently give the impression that customers are an inconvenience rather than the reason they are there. Today, not only was that again the case, but a male employee looked at us as though we were in his way while we were simply trying to purchase produce and other items for a dinner party. My family has been part of this neighborhood since the 1940s, and Iβve personally supported this store for 14 years. Itβs incredibly disappointing to see how far it has declined. The produce is awful, the customer service is worse, and Iβm done. I wonβt be shopping here anymore. Sadly, I don't even think it's worth one star anymore. The line

I love this little grocery store. Walking in gave me a serious case of Italy withdrawal. Fresh vegetables? Check. Amazing cheeses? Check. Every pasta imaginable and enough sauces to justify buying them all? Absolutely. And then there are the dessertsβ¦letβs just say my self-control clocked out. Bonus points to Santiago and Matt, who were incredibly friendly and helpful. This place is a little slice of Italy, and I canβt wait to come back for more.

Got these local specials at an Italian grocery while wandering the neighborhood. The most complete collection of flavor varieties Iβve seen so far.

After checking in at the Residence Inn we looked for a quick stop for groceries. The Market was our first stop. We met the owners, and enjoyed picking the freshest looking items which the store had many of! We had such a pleasant shop, and have filled our fridge with the best snack lunch foods for our brief stay here. Thank you!
